GobyMan
I put my small foam blocks into my AC mini every once in a while (while doing a w/c and pruning algea) and sometimes I leave them in there for a couple days. When I go to pull them out now, I find small amphipods (most look like tiny shrimp) that have taken the journey through the intake and get caught in the foam. I have been putting them back into the tank and every once in awhile my six line will snag one as they try to swim back down to the rocks/sand. He seems to really enjoy them. I'm guessing that when I don't have the foam in there they just make the trip and get tossed back out the overflow... Advice/suggestions? I guess I could just keep checking the foam every couple of days, but I don't want too many of them to get caught up in there....last night I released 3 back into the tank and this was just using the foam 1 day!! J-Bass
That's a drawback with using the foam. Either don't use it or check it every couple days or so. Link to comment
