vibe
to upgrade or not to upgrade...that is teh question. hey guys, my birthday is right around the corner (Feb. 16) and i was wondering what you thought are on me upgrading my lights. right now i am running my 2X40 watt PC fixture over my ten which im sure you ahve all seen;) . but i was thinking about going metal halide....would this be smart to put over a ten gallon tank? considering that i will be getting acroporas, moniporas, and clams in the near future. i have seen people with 2x36 watts of pc house these types of corals, but i was wondering if this would be smart. because the light that i want is the Ocean Light 150w HQI - Aqua Medic AB. is this good? i can get it online for $229. thanx all Link to comment
Physh1
I'd get for the halide if you got the cash. A 70w DIY GQI would be good as well. Cameron Link to comment
vibe
so the light wouldnt be over kill? Link to comment
Physh1
I think a 150 might be pushing it. Personally I believe a 70 would be great. Also, if you hang it you can adjust the height of the light as needed. I just did a DIY 70 on my 20 and it's perfect...I'm doing the same for my 10. Cameron Link to comment
