Rocket_155
hi don't know about the live live rock thing but i can help with the worms, they are more then likely brissle worms. They are good for your reef (although some people think that they are not : ). hth Link to comment
Crakeur
the diatoms coming out of the lr could be the work of a small shrimp or crab clearing out some space. Listen for clicking noises. If you hear them, that's a shrimp (mantis possibly). Link to comment
tyh
how big is a mantis shrimp? Link to comment
Crakeur
they start out small and can get pretty big. Not a good critter to have if you want to keep fish and shrimp but you might not have one. Link to comment
tinyreef
if it's a small pile it may also be a boring invert (digging not opinion), worm or mollusk. i've got something digging thru my red lava rock making little red dust piles. ??? usually it's a brown crappie type of dust mound (fecal matter vs. excavation debris). :x sometimes you may even catch them spewing it out of the little tunnel they dig.
