ficklefins Posted January 25, 2005 Share Posted January 25, 2005 Those top two are most likely going to be a problem. I would even venture to guess that the second is a gorilla crab. You have a nice sea of zoas and I would be careful with that last picture it could be a zoo eating nudibranch. Now as a suggestion I would do a search for pics on gorilla crab and zoo nudi. I saw a pic of a zoanthid eating nudibranch on reefcentral so you could try there. If it is a zoo eating nudi then consider doing a iodine dip as described by mucho reef on the zoanthid forum on RC. xeon Posted January 25, 2005 Share Posted January 25, 2005 Well they are both hairy crabs for sure, an exact ID would be difficult. Gorilla crab is kind of a nickname for crabs that look similar to the ones in your pictures. IMO, crabs like this are more often than not opportunistic omnivores. That being said, it is tough to tell what they may or may not bother. IMO, the safest remedy is to remove them from the display tank. That is my opinion.
