tufty711 Posted October 18, 2002 Share Posted October 18, 2002 hi everyone. i have a 18 gallon tank with 13kg of live rock and 45 pounds of live sand and a seaclone skimmer . my tank has been set up 6 weeks and has a midas blenny and a clown and i have a small amount of nitrites and my button polyps anre not opening fully. so can any 1 suggest how to improve water quality and get the polyps to open. thanks sketch ( i do water changes every week.) ( i do water changes every week.) its a brand new tank. if yer bio load is to high and you are having nitrite issues, you have overloaded it. try doing MORE frequent W/C as that will reduce it. ALSO increase Airation as O2 levels speed up bacterial action since they are.... uggg uhhhhh ...Aerobic. Yer polyps are stressed. ya simply added them too soon. A nano should run a good 2 months unmolested fer proper cycling and stability. WHAT LIGHTING ARE U USING? and what kind of salt and RODI yes? Link to comment
