I'm not sure of the specific answer to your question, not sure what nano-pump you are reffering to, but I would reccomend much more than a mini-jet in a 24 gallon aquarium for circulation. Perhaps a few maxi-jets.

I was thingink about doing the same thing. What pump did you replace with your stock pump in the sump of the 24 Cube? How is it working out? I was wondering what pump would go in the sump to replace the stock one that does not need to be modded but will help the circulation better.
