audiocontrol Posted January 19, 2005 Share Posted January 19, 2005 I used an UGF a few years back on my fish only salt tank with no problems. The reason they are not too hot in reefs are because the rockwork covers a majority of the UGF plates, which limit its performance Link to comment
Pinchy Posted January 19, 2005 Share Posted January 19, 2005 Deepsandbed conflicts w/ the use of UG filters- sand will fill the UG slits; besides- people just didn't wanna have to deal with air pumps, powerheads, and making sure the bottom was cleaned frequently to achieve that maximum flow..
