maverick743 Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 my water turned green win i was out of town for christmas... i have turn down my lights (how long they r on) and ran carbon...phosphate, amonia, and nitrates all check good...i did a 20 gallon water change saturday how soon before i can do another one without taking the chance of making it recycle? seabass Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 The water doesn’t support the bacteria as much as the LR and LS do. Therefore you can do another water change in 24 hours (the time it takes to properly aerate and mix new saltwater). However, I would try and keep my water changes at 25% or less of the total volume to help reduce stress. Also try to match the salinity and temperature to avoid sudden changes to these parameters.
