Caesar
I am new to Nano Reefs and I do not know what this is coming out of my LR. Not the purple shrooms look at the 2nd pic Link to comment
Caesar
A close up picture. It is covered in sand and does not move with the current so I don't think its a worm. Link to comment
gobies
You mean the thing that looks like a little tube covered in sand? It's made by a worm of some sort. Link to comment
Caesar
Gobies, do you know what it is called, if it's bad for my tank and if I can remove it. Link to comment
Crakeur
I thought he was referring ot the two shrooms. Link to comment
tinyreef
if you're talking about the tube it's like gobies said, a worm. i used to know the name (starts w/ a 't'?). there are two types. multi-tentacled and a pair of tentacles-type. i think they're related to the spaghetti worms you typically find on LR. i've been 'cultivating' two separate pair-types. pretty cool critters. i never see anything but their tentacles sweeping across the sandbed. they seem to feed on microfauna and are harmless to everything else ime. they build their tunnels across the substrate. i purposely give their section extra crushed coral to work with. one tunnel's fused together with purple coralline now.
