xoshagsox
I recently got some hermit crabs from someone and dont know what they are. They are blackish in color. Are they reef safe? Link to comment
xoshagsox
I also got a hitch hiker from some live rock. The crab is fuzzy and digs in the sand. Link to comment
klagos
I have a similar Hermit and he eats the brine shrimp I feed the fish. As for the other guy, despite what many have said about hairy crabs, I have two that were both hitch hikers and they haven't bothered anything in almost a year. Sorry I can't specifically id em, but if they ain't harming anything, they ain't a problem. Link to comment
xoshagsox
Thanks klagos. Anyone know the names of the crabs? Link to comment
xoshagsox
The crab is in a separate container until I figure out what it is. Link to comment
dakine
I don't know the name of the crab, but the general rule is hairy crabs are EVIL. In fact, with a few exceptions crabs are usually not reef safe and you'll start to notice snails and other things start to go missing. Get rid of it if you can. Link to comment
