Mnesarchus
Yesterday at my LFS I picked up a candycane (trumpet) coral on sale for $14! It has 6 polyps ranging from 1/3" to 1" across. On one of the polyps, there is a hole (not the mouth) on the side. If I look closely, there is something that looks like a fan coming in and out of the hole every 2 or 3 seconds. It moves quite fast. At first I thought they were sweepers, but I dont think sweepers go that fast. Is it some kind of worm? What should I do? Thanks in advance, Link to comment
Crakeur
filter feeder. you'll find them on sps corals too. nothing to be concerned with, just an added critter for the tank. Link to comment
ross76053
Ditto Crakeur's post - I've got a Candy Cane with multiple fan worms as well. Fun to watch. Ross Link to comment
Lunchbucket
sounds like a barnicle..many LPS like candys, frogspawns, and hammers have them bore into them. no harm just a filter feeder Lunchbucket Link to comment

ross76053
My purchases were a fluke... I've been back to the same LFS, and the same stuff I bought a week ago was priced at $40/each. I just got lucky. Link to comment
