NoobieReefer Posted December 28, 2004 Share Posted December 28, 2004 Ok, come home tonite and do the nightly flashlight in the dark tank to see what cool little creatures are doing in the dark and ... whoa... there is a cool looking size of a dime purple spiny thing crawling about as fast as a nassarious snail on my LR. Anyone have an idea what this sucker is? I would have taken a picture but it seems it didn't like the light and made a snail paced run for a place out of the light. I am almost positive its some sort of urchin, but its crazy this thing has just been noticed since it is pretty spiny and a decent size. I am thinking it hitchiked with a new finger coral i got last week. If anyone knows what it is let me know and what the heck do i do with it. I will try to get a pic if i can tommorow and post. greatreef16 Posted December 29, 2004 Share Posted December 29, 2004 I think it is a Slate Pencil Urchin, destructive/harmful to corals, and breaks/bouldozes lr. FYI they're herbivorous, and will probably die in nano reefs. Link to comment
