Anyone seriously looked into something like this:

http://www.garf.org/news30p2.html#unit

After we do our final move into a house next year (apartment hoping can be a much bigger pain with somethign like this) I think I'd like to try my hand at small scale aquaculture.

6x40w = 240w over 12 inches or so of water. I imagine it could work.

I plan on something like that in the future. You can save alot on light $$$ with the shallow tanks. you could sell or swap the frags to help pay for our big $$$$$$$$$ HOBBY.I would make up some brackets to fix the thing to the wall just in case it went over.

Hey that looks kinda similar to my setup only without a cover. Heres mine: http://www.nano-reef.com/gallery/showphoto...&cat=500&page=1 Two 20 longs and a 15 gallon sump fuge below, drilled overflows in the backs, and a viaaqua 3600 pumping water to both tanks. Lighting is 2 96w PC 50-50's. This seems to be enough light to do zoos, gsp, shrooms, and leathers which is all I'm interested in right now. I picked the 20 long because of its large footprint and shallow depth. Seems to be working great.

Those tanks that garf uses, I've seen em, they dont acually put out much for sale. Most of what I've bought has come right out of scotts tank.

My setup is very similar to garf's. I have (2) 48" x 17" x 8" running on a rack stand with a 20L as a sump. Currently only have 2 T5HO over each tank,(more when I can afford) which is enough to grow zoos, gsp, rics, monti, caulastrea. A Mag 9.5 pump provides circulation. Only cost me about $350 to get running.

Morphex, when you do your setup I highly recommend the T5HO over the NO 40w. You would get more light at less wattage.
