Carl_in_Florida
Can someone help me id this thing? I have never seen it before and have not added anything to my tank fo at least 3 months. The MH was off and the actinig was off when I spoted it so I poped out the camera, turned on the lights and got some shots. I looks like a snail without a shell but I do not think that is what it is since it has a fake looking shell color scheme on its back. It does have a mouth like a snail though. I thought maybe a nudibranch? If so what should I do? Though it looks like it, this is not a shell on top. Any help would be appreciated. Carl Link to comment
Madmike
I found one of those in my rock the other night, not sure if it is harmful or not, but my tank is just cycling, so it really doesn't matter. If you find out what it is, let me know. later Mike Link to comment
CaboKent
It's a Black Hawaiian Cowrie - algae eater, so it's good for the tank. I had 5 that came out of nowhere in my old 60 gal. Probably came in on your live rock. Link to comment
Ann
It looks like a Stomatella sp. snail to me. Good algae eaters and reproducers. Best regards Ann P.S. Keep it! Link to comment
