Mnesarchus
I know they are in invertabrate but I have a question. Mine is wiggling around a little orange thing in the center of all his spines, is that his eye!? Can they see? It looks exactly like an eyeball but I didn't think they had vision. Thanks. printerdown01
Are you talking in the center of EACH spine or in the center of all of the spines?? I am going to assume the latter... sooo.... it is a waste storage thingy (sorry i don't know the scientific name for it... actually my roomie just blurted it out a "cloaca" LOL) -don't ask we are strange... It can be pushed out of the anal opening (at the top of the urchin) and then withdrawn into the body cavity . :*( ??? ..... sorry, but after you IMed me I became very curious!! lol If they are all over the urchin (which was the impression that I got from your IM then they are feeler tenticles)... Now that I'm reading your post, it sounds as if you are talking about the center of the urchin...? Link to comment
Mnesarchus
Yes, the center of the urchin, in between all the spines (the last place on earth you want to be;) ). Thanks printer, Link to comment
Crakeur
If you are referring to the opening at the bottom of the base of the urchin, it is the beast's mouth. Link to comment
