Pikelet
I have noticed my female clownfish pulling off bits of a small amount of hair algae over the last two days. Naturally the male watches the female do it and copies a little later. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? I don't think she is grabbing pods as there are very few if any in my tank. Is this a neurotic behaviour similar to the way she nips at the mouths of snails to keep them on their toes(toe) or what? Constipation perhaps? Link to comment
Brianc_4
My false percs will nip at a little algae from time to time. Clowns do like a little bit of veggies in their diet although they are not known to be voracious algae eaters like some of the tangs. As far as you fish's neurosis or mental conditions, I could only speculate. Perhaps Tang envy, anemone rejection complex, or may be as a teenager it found out its dad used to be a chick and screwed it up for life. I wouldn't worry about it;) Link to comment
Pikelet
Prolly a decoy plan to confuse her male friend who keeps dogging her every move. I suppose she thinks she's funny! Link to comment
