aggiereefer
anyone know how to convert specific gravity readings into PPM or PPT numbers? I can only find literature on the internet that describes the salinity of water in PPM and not SG. Link to comment
Physh1
http://www.saltyzoo.com/SaltyCalcs/SgPptCo...units=SG&ppt=35 Is that what you're looking for? Cameron Link to comment
Blind Tree Frog
Taken straight from my hydrometer, a SG of 1.020 is ~27ppt and 1..025 is ~34. Incase you want a quick range to check against rather then entering numers to that calc. Link to comment
aggiereefer
i was doin research online and all I could find was the salinity of the local bays in PPT numbers. I was curious about keeping a few local fish in a seperate tank. Thanks for the help. Link to comment
Withers
if it helps any, the ocean is at approximately 35 ppt. i think refractometers will give you both specific gravity and salinity. Link to comment
