Heather_H
I have searched through some of the threads on here.... it seems that candy cane coral is prob my best choice as a first LPS. I also read you should prob spot feed it phytoplankton when the lights are out.. my question is how often do you need to spot feed? Also this may sound stupid but how do you feed it? Do you need to feed most corals cause right now I have zoo's and GSP and I do not spot feed at all. Thanks Link to comment
Tempest
I've had calustrea/candy cane in my nano for almost a year and have never spot/target fed them. They appear to be doing well though growth is slow. Link to comment
TurtleWax
Do you need to feed them? No. Can you feed them? Yes. LPS need meaty items like mysid or silversides, not phytoplankton. With SPS I really wouldn't bother because it's more trouble than it's worth. Link to comment
Blind Tree Frog
Twice a week I tend to toss some protoplankton and bloodworms (intended for the gamma) into my tank and let it flow in the current. My gorgonian seems to grab some, but i don't know if anyone else does. I don't bother target feeding mainly because I've placed the gorgonian in a spot I can't really reach, and because I'm lazy. Note... I don't know if my choice of foods is the correct thing to do however. i've already had one member here say dump the bloodworms (and then ran off without leaving a reason) and a LFS suggest I switch to formula one when the blood worms runs out.
