duganderson
I see a lot of gorgeous tanks with Torch colors near a wide variety of corals. Are there corals that do better near torches and do not get stung by the sweepers OR are less likely to get 'swept' for some reason? Are Torches really dangerous to other corals nearby in your experience? Is it dangerous for human to get stung by the sweepers? Quote Link to comment
geekreef_05
In my experience, no corals are safe near torches. Not even other torches. Which is what I have experienced. Torches may even tolerate each other for a while, but eventually they start to sting each other. I understand there are subspecies of torches and like some indo's will be fine touching other indos. But that just hasnt been my experience. I intended to get a torch or two again in the future, but they wont be close to any other corals this time. Quote Link to comment

Some colonies sting a lot harder than others, but temporarily irritated skin is the worst side effect I've seen for a human. (YMMV....some folks tend to be more sensitive to these kinds of irritations than others.) 1 Quote Link to comment
