mcarroll
For the low-low price of $550 you can have THIS which targets 420nm: https://www.asahi-spectra.com/opticalfilters/detail.asp?key=ZBPA420 😳 Quote Link to comment

seabass
So I bought a few more items to play around with: Tiffen 8 yellow (amazon, $20). Tiffen 85B orange (open box eBay, $15). Tiffen Circular Polarized Lens, Tiffen 81A warming filter, Tiffen FLD (kit from a camera store closing, eBay, $30). I really got this lens kit for the CPL. It'll be interesting to check the brown RISE(UK) filter against the Tiffen filters. 1 Quote Link to comment

Here's the kit that I'm looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Orphek-Aquarium-LED-lighting-Extra/dp/B09J1GS88S/ THis is actually what Im using at the moment. The yellow lens is actually used on my webcam. 1 Quote Link to comment
Reefkid88
Look on YT and search Brown Filter by Bubbaque, thank me later. I wish people would stop using yellow and orange filters. https://youtu.be/Bb0jio-Pfck?si=Iw2uwKbdQocAvXG6 Quote Link to comment
natalia_la_loca
this is what i use, it’s a sample pack of dozens of different gel filters. it’s nice because there are a lot of options for different lighting situations. I just cut out a little piece with scissors and hold it against my phone camera lens. Not too bad for an old iphone i think ☺️ 5 Quote Link to comment
sammy33
Great thread going here. 😎👍 I just started using this filter kit with my iPhone 13 Pro Max: It is 52mm so it covers all three lenses on the back of my phone. It comes with 5 filters and a clip on adapter. Here is a quick comparison using the 20K yellow filter. These pics are as shot with no color alterations. The 20K filter really tones down the blue and gets much closer to the true coloration I see with my eyes. Even the diatoms on the sand look nice and brown! lol! I will do another set using all the filters if anyone is interested. 📸 Edit: My light is a Hygger 30w Nano LED set on ~14K equivalent. Decent little boss light for $40 USD! And for reference, what light are you using? And if you know, or could guess, about what spectrum do you think it's set for? BTW, nice tank, nice pics, and nice comparison. It kind of makes me want to try the Orphek filters. 3 Quote Link to comment
sammy33
Using the Orphek filter kit again but using PNG format instead of GIF for the wider color space. Shot on iPhone 13 Pro with stock camera app. Lighting is Hygger 30w Nano LED set to ~14K equivalent. I cleaned the glass up on the tank a bit too. I think I like the 15K orange filter better this round. Sand looks more natural. Which one do you folks like best? No Filter 15K Orange 20K Yellow 15K Orange + 20K Yellow Noticed my cowrie cruising around in these shots just above the favia. 🐌 1 Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
They all seem to leave a tint, but still all are better than nothing in shot #1. Quote Link to comment
