GunslingerGirl
Hey all- I am terrible at IDing crabs. I got soooooo many in my KP rock order. I also got at least 3 pistols plus what I think is a fourth? The two I think are a tiger. The first one is missing the non snapping claw. I'm not sure on the other one (Edit- best guess orange snapper or not a snapper at all-- hides very well--but if I squint it looks like a cleaner shrimp???). - The black claws I figure are some type of rock crab for mantis snacking. The green fuzzy with white tips... maybe a mithrax? This guy? The white shrimp... your best guess? I see no snapper Can anybody help me decide if I should immediately sump, immediately flush, or try to raise in the "pest tank"? thanks all! They are going to live overnight in my extra rock bucket in some mason jars with plastic over them. Also sorry if formatting is odd- I'm on my phone. 1 Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
There's no theoretical reason that any should be flushed....lotsa fans of them around if you have temporary facilities for them. The white shrimp is a Mysid of some kind I think. Reef friendly. Amazing finds!! 🙂 🍃 Quote Link to comment

I am planning on trying to relocate them all tomorrow to more permanent locations. Unless anybody thinks any of the crabs are reef safe, they will be going into the grow out tank for the mantis shrimp food. I am hoping to find somebody who wants the tigers.. because I found yet another one. For that's... 5 now🙃. But that still leaves the question of the guy on the rock. I would love to know what they are but they refuse to leave the little crevice... maybe I can get a better image tomorrow. Unfortunately not a single one of my friends here in the Burgh will take the tigers. So either I will grow them out until they are safe to give away at cost or I will sell them to the LFS if they will have them. 1 Quote Link to comment
Solution GunslingerGirl Posted January 25 Author Solution Share Posted January 25 Home sweet crab home. Sorry for orientation- on my phone. I decided they can all live here for my soft cycle and if they make it- they can be food for the wennerae at the end of the month. I am still jarring the pistols until further notice. 1 Quote Link to comment
