Clown fish sick?

Hi everyone. Just this morning I noticed that both of my clownfish are swimming very slow and are staying very still. I know normal clownfish behavior is swimming slow and staying in one spot but this looks as if they're sick. I tried to feed them but they were disinterested in food. They keep hiding behind the rock as well. They are hardly moving. I noticed the cartridge was full of gunk and was so Brown. I changed the cartridge to see if that would help. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

If the behavior you're seeing is normal (I agree) then what makes you say they look sick?  Anything aside from the feeding response?

I agree with the heightened alertness to the fishes condition, but clownfish really do act weird....you should watch out for other symptoms.

What filter cartridge are you referring to?  Is it possible that you should run the system without it?  Also, are you testing your water?  If so, what are your most recent results?

More info on the set up would be good too (volume, how old it is, stocking, maintenance routine etc along with your most recent parameters and what type of test kits you used).
