MichealKlein
I currently maintain two ocellaris clownfish, a peppermint shrimp, and a couple of hermit crabs in my 13.5-gallon nano reef tank. My intention is to introduce corals in about a month when the tank is more established. I'm contemplating adding a cleaner shrimp to the tank. The peppermint shrimp I have tends to stay concealed and isn't very active in tank maintenance. My question is whether my tank has sufficient space for both these shrimp, and more importantly, if they will coexist peacefully. Additionally, I might consider adding a small goby in the future. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
MrP
A peppermint and cleaner will be fine together. Cleaner shrimp aren't herbivores so it won't do much tank cleaning as their name suggests. They need meaty foods. Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
I have 3 cleaners and 5 or 6 peppermint shrimp all are fine.... but I do have a larger tank with a lot of hiding space so don't take my answer as "it will definitely work for you" My cleaners will occasionally chase the peppermints but I've seen no other aggression.
