incoherentmunkey
After years of research, watching YouTube videos, reading blogs, etc., I finally broke down and bought my first tank(s) back in February. Last year I planned to get a JBJ Nano 20 but found these two AIOs on sale through bulkreefsupply, so I figured I had waited long enough. The IM 10 was started on 3/10/2023 using Dr. Tim's one and only and ammonia chloride, and the IM 14 Peninsula started on 4/9/2023 using the same (currently still cycling). Once the IM 10 finished cycling after 3 weeks I made a rookie mistake and added multiple fish at once which stressed my bioload capabilities...resulting in an ammonia spike which required a large water change. Since then things have gone relatively well and have added some CUC and corals, with more corals to come once I can find the optimal placement for my current inhabitants. IM Fusion 10 Pro 2 Equipment: IM Nuvo Fusion Pro 2 AIO bundle using Desktop CustomCaddy (filter floss, 0.8 ROX Carbon pack, GFO pack) Mightyjet 326gph with controller AI Prime 16 LED Osmolator Nano 3152 ATO inside IM HydroFill Ti 5gal ATO (currently sits inside the IM 14gal APS Stand) 75W eheim JAGER heater ~10lbs. Fiji pink CaribSea sand ~8lbs. CaribSea Nano dry liferock AquaForest Sea Salt Mix APS Pedestal on end table IM Fusion 10 Pro 2 Stock List: 1 Artist White Clownfish (name TBD) 1 Orange Filefish (Blaze) 1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Dave) 4 Cerith Snails 1 Bumblebee Snail 1 Rasta Zoa 1 Jason Fox Stargazer Zoa 1 Double Berry Zoa 1 Blue/Green Mouth Lepastrea IM Fusion 14 Peninsula Pro Equipment: IM Nuvo Fusion Pro 2 AIO bundle (plan to use Desktop CustomCaddy with filter floss, 0.8 ROX Carbon pack, GFO pack) Mightyjet 326gph with controller 100W eheim JAGER heater ~13lbs. Fiji pink CaribSea sand ~12lbs. CaribSea Nano dry liferock 75W eheim JAGER heater AquaForest Sea Salt Mix IM 14 Pro 2 APS open stand To be added: AI Prime 16 LED Osmolator Nano 3152 ATO IM Fusion 14 Peninsula Pro Stock List: TBD (clownfish, goby, zoas, hammers,???) The pictures on this initial post are of the 10gal only (post added from my phone), I'll add some of the 14 Peninsula setup soon. Super excited to finally have these going and already planning on more once we get settled into our new house. 1 Quote Link to comment
BadCrab
It looks like the reef bug bit you hard! Excellent choices for AIO, I think you'll be happy with those systems. Just remember to take it slow (multiple tanks to focus on makes this easier,) as patience is always rewarded in the hobby. I'd love to see the rockwork in the peninsula! Quote Link to comment

I'd love to see the rockwork in the peninsula! Yes, it bit me hard a long time ago...I just couldn't wait any longer. I also bought an eshopps DeskMate 4.8 Gallon AIO Aquarium w/ Led light but I don't have it going yet. It looks great with the kraken reef lid and accessories, but I'm afraid of the parameter swings in that small of a tank. More to come on that one.. Here are some pics of the 14 Peninsula: 1 Quote Link to comment
incoherentmunkey
So, I think I made another beginner mistake by tinkering too much on the 10 gal. I had been using just the 200 micron stock filter sock that came with the bundle but wanted to change to the custom caddy with the GFO and carbon. After a week or so of using this setup I noticed brown slime algae building up, and my Double Berry Zoa has not opened for 3 days now. The only thing I can think is that I bottomed out my nitrates and phosphates, they are both testing 0. I removed the GFO and carbon but left the filter media. Would it hurt to scrap the algae off the back/black wall or would that remove beneficial coralline algae too? On a positive note the 14 Peninsula had completed cycling after 15 days and my AI 16 prime came today so it is set up and ready for some livestock. I'm debating moving the clown and filefish into the new tank and putting a smaller shrimp/goby pair and another clown in the 10gal. Thoughts or recommendations? 14 Peninsula FTS: Full set up : 10gal: Quote Link to comment
Ianfaulk
Do you still have these running? I just purchased a 14 Peninsula myself and was wondering how the AI prime worked out on it? Quote Link to comment

I have the maxspect jump - works great, I'm sure the prime would be a wonderful option for this tank as well. 1 Quote Link to comment
