DIY Led Question

Max output is 48 volts, divide that by the maximum forward voltage of the LEDs you intend to run at your driven current. Typical forward voltage for LEDs these days is ~3 volts (gotta look at the datasheet for more specifics, but rapid lists those at 2.93 volts for 1000mA, so darned close) for whites, blues, etc.

 

That math puts you right at 16 total but I would reduce that by 1 or so to give headroom, so I would say 15 LEDs off of that should be a safe reliable bet. 16 would probably work, but is close enough that it may be borderline and have flicker from past experience with the ELN type power bricks.
