Rab here i am just looking for some input on the water temperature required for keeping corals healthy, and of whether a Chiller is necessary, my tanks gets warm in the evening, what is the ideal temperature and how long do chillers last and cost and of such how often and how to perform maintenance. are chillers necessary? in a tropical climate?

I used to run a chiller on my biocube to help keep the temperature steady. I set it at 78° F. I ran it for over 5 years and it sill works fine-just keep the filters clean and make sure it has air circulation, especially from the back. I don't know how much they cost these days.

Corals seem to do well around 80 °F.  Stability is desirable.  They will tolerate temps up to 84 °F, providing there are no power outages.  A little cooler is often better than too hot.  Although fans can often keep temps under 84 °F; if not, you'll need a chiller.
