sadie
Some algae was growing on the disk my monti is on. I have read that sps really don't like algae. I decided to take it out of the tank and scrape the algae off the disk, I didn't tough the monti) before I put it back in the tank, I sprayed it with some tank water from my water bottle. I thought it was on mist, but it was on that hard squirt stream and it looks like I drew a white line through my monti. 😔 Then I was thinking- I'm not even sure montis can come out of the water... Did I kill it? It's not looking too good. The flowers were out yesterday. Is there something I can do to make it feel better if it's not dead? Quote Link to comment

sadie
This morning it looked a little better. It had more orange color but still patches of white. Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
If the tank is stable, it can recover. Yes, they can come out of the water for awhile. 1 Quote Link to comment
DevilDuck
The polyps are retracted, give it a few days and it should come back. It also looks a little bleached, you may want to consider moving it a little lower to a shader spot. Take my advice with a grain of salt. I have little luck with monti's. I dream of having those big colorful scrolling plates in my tank one day. 1 Quote Link to comment
