Aidanburkhardt
I was doing a water change when I noticed a weird smell and some smoke wisps then realized my heater had exploded. Luckily I had a spare lying around and was already doing a water change, so I pulled it out and cleaned all my filter media and did about a 25% water change. Corals and fish all seem fine. Is there any other precautions I should take to ensure nothing dies off, I have read daily water changes and running some carbon so I will likely run those just in case. Also any heater suggestions for a 32 gallon tank to replace it would be appreciated! 6 Quote Link to comment
NanoGrant
Glad everything seems to have survived! As for replacements, the Eheim Jäger range is pretty solid and then run it off of a heater controller for good measure. 1 Quote Link to comment
DevilDuck
I'm sure everyone one of us that has been in this hobby long enough has had this happen. Luckily you were home and caught it immediately before it electrocuted the tank. One reason why I like titanium heaters, but whatever heater you buy, put it on a controller. 3 Quote Link to comment
