OscarW
I got a small zoa colony a while back that seemed happy and started opening within hours of installing it. It closed up about 2 weeks later and hasn't opened again. About 3 weeks now. Water parameters are all good and all the other corals are doing very well. I pulled it out to check for pests and re-dipped it even though I didn't see any. That's been several days now. How can I know if it's still alive? Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
StanD
Does the polyp smell at all? Also, does the outside look like it's covered in anything or peeling? Pics would help ..... 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
If the polyps are still round and firm looking then leave them for now.. they can be a pain depending on what type you have. If they look like they are melting/falling apart then they could be damaged beyond repair. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
OscarW
There was no smell when I had it out for re-dipping. No slime or anything that looked like fungus etc. The polyps are firm and round and just look like it has closed for the night. I'll just keep an eye on it for now. Thanks for the replies. 2 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
Is it me or smelling dead zoas is not exactly safe? 1 1 Quote Link to comment
jcrisman2009
It could be the coral acclimating or just being a stubborn stinkpot? Quote Link to comment
