Upgraded my Fluval EVO light

Went with the nicrew 30 watt led.  Also got the 2 channel timer. Works great.

seems to be a huge improvement over the stock 15 watt light.  For the price, seems like a good deal

Would be great to see some pictures!  I just put up a Fluval EVO in my office and will be receiving the Marpros 30W light this week to install versus the factory one.  AI prime is a beautiful light but pricey and so it's good to see some of the budget options that help reefers get into the hobby.

I upgraded to the Fluval Marine 3.0 and then upgraded again to a pair of 21LEDusa ReefbarPro deep blue bars--these are budget options with pretty high performance and a great alternative to Reefbrites for the money (2 bars plus controller are about the same as the Marine 3.0 and easily half cost of Reefbrites). The 18x 3w LEDs per bar give great penetration and much higher PAR than the Marine 3.0.

Couple of pics   Running the lights at blue 100% white 40%.   GSP are extended like never before.  Zoa seem happy other than the damn peppermint shrimp walked on them just as I was taking the pic

My light and timer was $85 shipped to my door.
super happy with it.   Great light for a 10 gallon or smaller nano

The "sunsetter" on the back cost $40 and sets its sunrise, sunset, max and min for 2 channels, and the. Also the rampdown to zero. So I have the actinic channels ramping 30 min at 7am, then down to 10% at 6pm for 30 min, then 0% at midnight. The white/UV/cool blue channel is ramping up later and down to zero at sunset.

The LEDs are each 3watt, and PAR on the sandbed should hit about 150 if I had a single bar at max. I have the white channel at 20% and the actinic blue at 70% on both bars.

Each bar was $80.

First person I've seen with the NICREW. I have the 50 watt. What percentage are you running whites and blues at?!

Running whites at 40% and blues at 100%. What percentages are you going with?  My numbers came from no where just adjusted by eye

Tank has been running for 6 weeks.  GSP looks amazing with the new lights.  Seems to be loving the new lights.

I noticed in that picture you have the nicrew attached to the glass side of the evo.  If I remember correctly, the nicrew recommends 6mm thickness as a minimum requirement for mounting.  The evo has 5mm glass, so you could risk cracking the side.  I had mine mounted on the filter part - which has thicker glass.

Guess I’m gonna have to switch to the filter side.  Thanks.

I have mine 80% blue and 60% white but I cant remember for sure. PAR registered 400 at the very top of the tank so assuming it disperses into proper PAR lower down. On the left side I have the stock fluval light, since I just upgraded to a 20 gallon and haven't gotten a second NICREW. But my light is placed lower due to space. Just moved it so waiting to see results.

I had mine on the glass of my fluval and now on my 20 gallon and didn't have any problems. I wouldn't worry, just make sure everything fits right.
