Alex Peacock
Hi! I have a rose bubble tip anemone and I just got a light for it, but the light is super bright and there's no way to turn the brightness down. Is there any way I can keep the light on at night for the anemone and off during the day? Or is there anything I can put over the (LED) light to keep the brightness down but have it still be effective? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Alex Peacock
Can't seem to get a pic up but it's a pico Reefbreeders light. I mostly want to know if it's ok to have the light on at night instead of daytime or if that will just be stressful for the anemone? Quote Link to comment

Just an educated guess It shouldn't matter what time the light cycle starts as long as there is an extended period of darkness to offset. You want a good 12 hours of darkness Regardless. Anemone live on a circadian rhythm like we do. May take a bit of time to adjust to new cycle and it's wouldn't be advisable to move the cycle around once it's set. Quote Link to comment
seabass
I feel the biggest concern would be natural daylight during the day. However, if the tank was in a room without windows, you should be able to run the lights whenever. 1 Quote Link to comment
Alex Peacock
Thanks everyone, that's what I figured. Well, looks like I'll just have to adjust to the bright light haha! Quote Link to comment
M. Tournesol
You could maybe DIY a lampshade? Quote Link to comment
patback
Why would running the light at night solve the issue of the light being to bright? 1 Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
How high off the tank is the light? If you can lower it enough, there should be minimal light getting into the room. ("Enough" depends on the exact dimensions of your tank.) Quote Link to comment

The tank is down in the kitchen and we sleep upstairs, so it wouldn't bother us at night, it's just really bright during the day. We're getting used to it though, just makes the kitchen feel a bit like a nightclub haha. Thanks for the ideas everyone Quote Link to comment
