Aquacrazed
My female clown has had these dark patches on her body for about the month now. She's eating and moves about like normal. I am now starting to see marks like this showing up on the other side also. Originally I thought these are coral sting marks but now I'm having doubts. Any thoughts? Thanks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tamale
This is an old thread but that kind of looks like “hyper-melanization” from stinging as mentioned in the thread. I am NOT an expert and I’m not giving any sort of diagnosis. reef2reef has a great fish disease forum you could post this to for quick replies if you haven’t already! https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/clownfish-stinging-vs-black-ich.249972/ 1 Quote Link to comment
Humblefish
Agree that it is most likely Clownfish Hyper-Melanization: 1 Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
The culprit may be in the photo with the fish. Some Euphyllia can deliver a VERY potent sting on par with an LT anemone, maybe even stronger!! (This is not universal tho....most are not that strong.) Quote Link to comment
