JHitch
Anyone know what these are? Saw them at my local Petco, “assorted damsels” they were labeled. They typically they have the black and white stripe, and the black with the white dot, haven’t seen these before. They look similar to a green chromosome but they had them too. photo attached Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Hmmm… I DNA what those fish are… sorry I can’t help 😬😬😬 Sorry… can’t resist the science nerd dad joke… green chromosome was too good to of an autocorrect pass up 😉🤗 2 Quote Link to comment
DaJMasta
Their haircut and shape seem a tad bit different, but are you sure they're not green chromis? The Live Aquaria picture is a bit closer to what you've got, but chromis are damsels, so the naming wouldn't be automatically wrong. Now that I've taken a moment to look around... maybe a staghorn damsel. There seem to be a number of color variants, but some show no striping and the dorsal fin and face shape seem like a better match. 1 Quote Link to comment
JHitch
@DaJMasta I only say they are not green chromis because they also had them and there was a difference. The body shape is spot on for staghorn damsel! Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
Ternate Damsel maybe? https://m.liveaquaria.com/product/3165/?pcatid=3165 3 1 Quote Link to comment
M. Tournesol
@JHitch, could it be possible to have a whole picture of your tank 🙇♂️? In this topic and your Snarknose Goby Disease(how is he?) topic we can only see small pieces of your aquarium 😫. I am too curious. Could you satisfy this childish request 🥺? 1 Quote Link to comment
JHitch
@M. Tournesol sure. The aquarium is very new still! 4 Quote Link to comment

A.m.P
They're juvies, so hard to ID, the bodyshape spells trouble to me as it really resembles amblyglyphidodon. There are multiple species of similar-looking "blue-green chromis" which can be difficult to actually sort through. Some quick look alikes:https://zookeys.pensoft.net/article/12061/zoom/fig/13/https://www.fishbase.se/photos/PicturesSummary.php?ID=61074&what=species https://www.fishbase.se/photos/PicturesSummary.php?ID=63556&what=species https://www.fishbase.se/photos/ThumbnailsSummary.php?ID=59851 They also resemble ternate damselfish or lemon chromis, in any case it's not likely three will work out well in a smaller tank like that. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
