I've yet to decide on a tank - I just know I want at least 40g. But, INT, EXT, AIO, Waterbox, RSR, IM...I'm dealing with a tragedy of choice situation. I'm a reef noob, so an AIO INT might be easiest, but I like the extra leeway that a sumped tank provides.

 

Fortunately, I've got several weeks to plan out a system as my cycle progresses. 

 

Started cycling 24lbs dry rock on 7/31 in a sturdy rubbermaid tub in my garage (no light, no heater, and lid tightly secured to deter evaporation). Conducting my test with API's Saltwater Master Kit. Results follow:

 

 

Cycle appears to be progressing well. 

 

Proposed livestock list:

1 pair clowns

goby/shrimp pair

helfrichi firefish

six-line wrasse

bristletooth tang

 

Corals - hardy is best since I'm new

 

Basic CUC

 

Livestock list is open to comments and changes. What I have listed is just what my wife and I would like to see in the tank.
