The anemone decided after a few days that it wasn’t happy in the centre of the tank and took itself on a journey around the tank before settling down in the back right corner, which is ok as that’s where the clowns mostly hang out hosting the powerhead, (I’m hoping that they will find and start hosting the anemone at some point.) This left a big open space right at the front centre of the rank which lay empty for a little while until a couple of days ago when I treated myself to a beautiful Aussie Elegance Coral to fill up this prime spot.  I am almost done with adding corals to the tank but looking for something to put on the rocks at the left hand side, I was thinking about possibly a toadstool leather to fill this space but I’m open to other suggestions as to what could work here, any thoughts? 12DC79CD-9C41-42BF-B769-6DAC6DA64D0B.thumb.jpeg.268b01bc1fa696c28cd992128928ca2c.jpeg

Wow awesome looking tube nems and beautiful elegance. How long have you had the tube nems for? I had one in my Evo and when fully stretched out it took up a lot of space

Thanks, I have had them in the tank for about a month now and they are amazing.

Not updated here for a while and I have been having a few problems with a few of my corals even though all the parameters seem to be good. I have bit the bullet and finally changed the light and got a great second hand Kessil A160we tuna blue for a bargain price. The corals are starting to look better already and I have only had it on the tank for just over a day.  Pops the pistol shrimp has been causing havoc and dug up one of my tube anemones which then left its tube and I am now trying to save it so will just need to wait to see if it makes it. I ended up trading the long tipped anemone back to my LFS as it just wasn’t happy and couldn’t find a happy spot in the tank unfortunately. I have replaced this with a couple of bta which seem to have settled in fine and growing in size.

Well the last month has brought with a few new goodies. After upgrading the light I went out a bought the spectral controller so I could make the most of the kessil light and I’m very happy with how it has improved the overall tank. My beautiful fiancée bought me a h2ocean auto top up for Xmas and I feel that this has helped significantly at keeping the parameters more stable. 87C9AFCE-1D7B-4BCC-9083-20F0948B493E.thumb.jpeg.1870106241068ff731914af1e5ebceba.jpegI’ve added a few more corals along with a couple of extra pieces of live rock and a small urchin. Things are going good for now and hopefully continue to. Looking forward to seeing this small part of the ocean in my kitchen mature further. 01E3BB98-C82A-4CC7-9C5C-537EC01701AF.thumb.jpeg.7c4f3e1ab2e8761d195e8432d9cae0e6.jpeg

Tank is looking great, I also love the way that the Kessils photograph looks beautiful

Thanks and yeah the kessil light definitely gives a great shimmer to the tank, all the corals seem to be growing and popping more since upgrading the light.

9 months in and things seem to be going good. I have slowly made the change to Red Sea coral pro salt which the corals seem to be reacting well to. Currently dosing 2.5ml of all for reef over each 24hr period and cut back on water changes from every week to every 2 weeks. Probably only a few more corals that I want to add and I’m trying to grow some GSP on the chamber wall.
