Hud
I started cycling a 20 gallon tank 3 weeks ago with dr Tim’s ammonia and dr Tim’s one and only and 2 day ago all my ammonia was at 0 and my nitrites were at 0 so I added 2ppm of ammonia to see if it would convert into nitrates in 24 hours and it’s been 36 hours and my ammonia is zero but my nitrite is still .5 Quote Link to comment
Hud
I used 10 lbs of dry rock and 20 lbs of live sand Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
What test kit are you using? It sounds like you are close but it's got a little bit to go yet. Quote Link to comment
Hud
Should I just try again once my nitrites are 0 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
This isn't uncommon. It mat take more time for the nitrite to process. Ammonia is more of a concern than nitrite Quote Link to comment
Hud
Does that mean my tank is cycled Or do I need to wait Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
I would wait another couple days if I'm honest. Just to be sure. Ammonia is being consumed so as clown79 says that's the bigger concern sorted mate 👍🏼 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Personally, i'd wait till it processes to 0. 2 Quote Link to comment
