Emilyloloms
Hello, i have an ecosystem made out of pond water. I put a couple zebra snails in to eat the algae but now it’s got to the point where their poo is what is making the water not clear. Are there any animals that eat snail poo? Quote Link to comment
M. Tournesol
bacteria, plankton, Zooplankton, worm, larva/insect without forgetting alga and plant. The water being not clear can be due to a bacteria bloom generated by the nutriment that your snails did free by eating algae. It could go with time when your ecosystem start to balances itself. if the water is still not clear after x times, just remove some snails. Quote Link to comment
seabass
Make sure that you remove any dead snails. You might need some more water movement and/or filtration. I'd also siphon out any visible detritus. Do you have a picture of your setup, which you can share with us? Quote Link to comment
