Hi, I'm new to the community but I have a 20 gallon long that I'm planning to turn into a predator tank before any one asks,no this tank isn't going to be permanently home for any these fish but act as a temporary home for a couple of months or year till they get a 120 gallon home

Fish that I'm planning:

Croaker(baby)

Spot(baby)

Pinfish

Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish

red lizard fish or snow flake eel (baby but big enough not to be eaten)

Small northern pufferfish or frogfish

in the 120:

all the fish above

snowflake eel or red lizard fish (depending on which one I get now)

banded cat shark

northern pufferfish or frogfish(depending on which I got)

Welcome to the community @Emilythecoyote!

Although you are planning on keeping these fish in a smaller tank for a short term, you will find that predator fish generally need more space to exist, for swimming, feeding, territory and shelter. Confining these fish to a small tank may lead them to prey on each other in a short amount of time. I would consider focusing on just one of these fish for a nano reef, and aspire for more once you have the larger 120 gallon system in place, where each fish can establish their own territory and shelter.

What Christopher said. 100%

You will unlikely find a hobbyist who will advise to keeping that many fish in a 20g, not even for a few months.

Territory issues will definitely be an issue in such a small tank.
