newreefguy
Hi Everybody, I have had this candy cane coral for about two weeks. When I first got it all the polyps looked the same. Now, two of them are totally deflated and their tentacles no longer come out at night. The water parameters are fine and my lighting is 110w PC over a 20H tank (55w 10000k / 55w Actinic). Do you have any suggestions? Are they dying? Can I do anything to maybe save them? Do they pose a crash threat? Sorry for all the questions but this is my first LPS. Thanks! Ryan Link to comment
winniebagel
Have you tried feeding each of the heads some meaty foods? They usually perk up and look better after you feed 'em some. I feed my candy cane coral 3-4 times a week. Link to comment
newreefguy
I noticed last Saturday that my KH was way low. I have been raising it with Reef Builder at approx 1dKH per day since then and the polyps seem to be puffing up a little. I don’t know if it's a coincidence or not but hopefully they will continue to improve. I have also started feeding at night once in a while. Link to comment
