HockeyDrumsFish
Weird question, but let's try. I have two established 12G long nano reefs. I'll be setting up a 20G long FRESHWATER tank for my son. Question - can I use sand from my nanos (I have extra that can come out) or even media that I have in a bio bag in the AIO area to put into the new freshwater set up to help with cycling and establishing bio? We all know about taking from one established SW tank to start another SW or tank or FW to FW but what about SW to FW? Is the bacteria effectively the same or will they die out when placed in non-saltwater? Quote Link to comment
Clown79
The bacteria is different and will die in freshwater. 1 Quote Link to comment
HockeyDrumsFish
Well there's my answer! 🙂 Sorry son, you're just gonna have to be patient like every person who has ever owned a tank in the history of the world! 🙂 Quote Link to comment
