Have you ever used *any* copper-based medication in the tank with the rocks?

Are the rocks porous?

Do you know what type of rocks they are?

I would go with quality Live Rock, you can't beat the biological filtration benefit. This is especially important with small tanks where there is usually less skimming and gas exchange.

99% of the bacteria and algae on the freshwater rock will die when you put it in your saltwater tank. This will be bad. And no different than tying a dead mouse to a brick and putting it in your tank. I wouldn't do it.

 

but thats just my opinion.

Yup. Dead mice are only good for freshwater tanks.

 

With snakeheads.

 

Actually, I fed a snakehead a mouse once. It was alive though. At least, for a while.

I used to keep them. I had one that got too big for a 50-gallon tank, went crazy and began attacking his own tail. He died from the resulting infection. He had already killed his tankmate months before.

 

I guess he was about 2 feet long or so.

HOLY CRAP!!! 2ft!!! mine was like 10" and i was scared to put my hand in the tank!!!!
