Dose meds in QT w/ non-symptomatic fish?

Hey,

I currently have two clownfish in a QT tank, the first one has been in there for three weeks and the second for two. I was just wondering if you guys dose medications such as copper and metroplex, even if the fish isn’t showing symptoms. I don’t want to add stress if it isn’t needed, but I also don’t want to introduce a hidden parasite into my main tank. What do you recommend?

The first, smaller one had white-stringy poop that hasn’t been seen since after feeding metroplex infused pellets for three days. The second, bigger clownfish never showed signs of anything. They eat like mad twice a day and don’t show signs of anything on the exterior. Can something like ich, velvet or brook be hidden in QT?

Some people choose to treat the fish regardless as a precaution while others qt to monitor and treat if need be.

I always qt'd for 4 weeks minimum, longer is better.

i chose to not treat them with meds unless they needed to be treated.
