clamsoda
I got this as part of a frag pack a couple months ago. I've tried Google and can't find anything. Can somebody tell me what kind of coral this is? Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Looks like a St Thomas Mushroom coral to me Quote Link to comment
clamsoda
Thanks for the input Ratvan, but I am leaning towards it being Hydnophora based on what another has told me. Quote Link to comment
dwdenny
Aren't Hydnophora branching corals commonly called horn coral? I could be wrong. Quote Link to comment
clamsoda
Yes they are often branching, however I have found plating varieties in my recent research, for example as seen below from this thread: It's the "fluffy" appearance and all of the tiny mouths that leave me to believe it is hydnophora. The center of mine has actually bulged upwards in the month since the picture I took a month ago, so who knows how it will develop... 1 Quote Link to comment
reef-luva
Looks like a hairy shroom to me, like a blue rhodactis maybe...is it soft or ridged? Quote Link to comment
