dubious49 Posted October 15, 2004 Share Posted October 15, 2004 i use the aquarim pharm tap water filter for water changes on my soft freshwater south american cichlid tank and was thinking about using it for make up water on my nano. my question is this... the water that comes out of this filter is very soft and registers at 6.0 pH. if i were to just add my salt mix to this water would it raise the pH and alkalinity or would i need to use another conditioner (like R/O right or something similar) to replace the disolved solids that the filter removes? until then i will keep using water that i condition with my britta (which has worked well for me for the past year). thanks in advance.
