Monday I removed water to net fish and took my live rock out of the tank and into the bucket of the water I removed from my tank.. Well this morning before I left I didnt notice any change in color on the rock but 8 hours later when I returned most of the L/R had a orange red rusty color.. Is this normal or what could it be??? Lingwendil Posted October 23, 2004 Share Posted October 23, 2004 My 2.5G's LR just started to "rust" on the edges of the rock, mostly on bare rock extremities, but some started to grow on my Montipora frags! It seems to be a type of algae, is your LR cured? mine is semi-cured(still some de off, mostly of bleaching Coralline), and my tank had just finished cycling three days before the "rust " appeared (also two days since my Montipora was added).
