Is this Codium macroalgae dead?

I bought a bit of macro algae and I had a suspicion that it has died considering it was pretty cold and the shipping had no heatpack or anything. I thought to check with you here and if it is dead I remove it from the tank.

Nope, it's alive. Dead codium, like most other macros, melts. It's got some hair algae on it, but codium does fine with a bit of algae on it. The dark color is fairly normal, it does that under relatively intense light.

 

Codium is hardy and can put up with a lot of nonsense. It's also found in relatively cold water some of the time, so it's tolerant of that in shipping.

Thank you for the reply. Is it better to give it less light? Aka move it out of intense light area and put it in a corner?

Codium is pretty tolerant of all lights. Moderate light is generally good. The dark color doesn't mean the codium is being harmed, that's just how it reacts to bright lights.
