dling
Is there a good or bad time to dose amino acids? Meaning does it matter if its 3am or 3pm ? Quote Link to comment
farkwar
Right before you feed regular coral food is the best time Say 10 minutes or so before The AA can cause a feeding response in many active feeding corals The second best time is right after a water change Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
Amino Acids are a nitrogen and carbon dosing scheme in disguise, along with a trace element boost... (From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino_acid) ...most of it seems to go to bacteria growth....eventually cyanobacteria. Make sure the tank's nutrient levels stay in the positive. I would tread pretty lightly on any coral feeding program that doesn't just involve feeding your fish more somehow. (And letting your fish feed your coral.) Quote Link to comment
dling
Very informative . Thanks. I have 7 fish in a 50g tank. Have know idea if that is enough to feed the corals with their waste. Ive been dosing Brightwell's coral amino since 11/7. 1ml -5ml per 50g daily is the recommended for the first mth. Been doing 1ml. I may increase after the first mth. Looking to color up corals. Only time will tell, 1 Quote Link to comment
