stacyW
Hi all:) As the above sugests, my acrylic sump is leaking. Firstly, the leaks have been gradually increasing in intesnsity over the last few months. At the moment, its at half a pint a day on average. This is containable for now with moping it up. However, its the aquarium stand/cupboard wich is taking a beating which worries me. In the mean time, a new sump which should work fine has been ordered but is stuck in transit at the moment becasue of the covid crisis. The sump should be hear in the early part of next week! At present, its an emergency and i need to remove and replace the sump immediately to stop water leakage and most of all to stop the cabinet being recked beyond belief. So my question is this, what can i do in the mean time, to replace the sump or remove it from the system? This is beyond my knowledge and experiance so i would be most grateful if someone else has been here and can help. The space under the tank is 21"x18" where the sump lies. There is a copperband and percular clown in the tank above which is 24"x18"x18". Any advice or a temporay soluition would be most grateful. Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
I would just buy a 10g or whatever fits and replace it with that until the sump arrives. You don't have to have baffles. It is just temporary. 2 Quote Link to comment
seabass
I might just shut it down until the new one arrives (sounds like it'll just be a few days). Move the heater into the display and call it good (I assume you have adequate flow without the return pump). 1 hour ago, stacyW said: There is a copperband and percular clown in the tank above which is 24"x18"x18". That's pretty small for that butterflyfish. 1 Quote Link to comment
stacyW
Hello, thanks for the reply. Up to now i have a storage box that should fit in the cabinet and a plastic salt bucket placed inside it, this gives me a rough 2 chamber sump. As you mentioned this should help until the new sump arrives. 2 Quote Link to comment
