Rekkuzza
Hello there! I was doing a black out for my tank and had a light plastic bag cover some of the tank last night. I just got back from work to find my reef tank got to 83 degrees. I'm not sure how long its been like this. How can I quickly bring the heat down? And will this immediately bleach my sps? Garf
Don't do anything quickly. Let it cool down normally. Corals don't like sudden, large changes. 83F isn't that hot, so i would not call that a large swing, assuming you are running something like 78F normal temp. Quote Link to comment
Tired
83 isn't a serious problem. Just let it cool down naturally. Maybe turn off the lights. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Most likely from the plastic bag if it was covering most of the tank. Take the bag off and let it cool naturally and placing a fan around the tank will help. Nothing should be done quickly as others advised Quote Link to comment
