Diy nano reef light

Unit 91

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I recently did a 30 3w LED conversion for my boyu t550 (replacement bulbs are hard to find). I managed to fit the LEDS + heatsink in the empty space of the old bulbs and keep most of the wiring including the on/off switch and fans. What would be the best ratio to run them at to support corals? Currently the 18 whites are on 40% and 10 blues plus 2 full spectrum are at 60%. My concern is going to bright and just overwhelming my corals. Do I need to make it brighter or dimmer?

I don't know how to answer your question, but would be interested in seeing some pics of what you have done. I too am trying to figure out a good blend for lighting.
